Confusing math…

  I came across this a few times. They say once you go into Calculus, it’s understandable, but me having not gone that far, find this pretty strange…

x = 0.99999…

10x = 9.99999…

10x-x = 9.99999… - 0.99999…

9x = 9

x = 1

    It’s because of the conversion from fraction to decimal math, another thing is 1 = 9/9 = 0.9999… = 9…/10… = 1

    0.9999... is equal to 1.000..., for real numbers. You might know that real numbers never "stop", like for instance pi. Equality for real numbers mean that you can get it them sufficiently close no matter how small a number you pick.
